“For me, music is more than the tunes you hear or the notes you reach. It’s a universal instrument for carrying stories and emotions across time and space. Music is communication.” - Rachel Moore
Singing should be fun and feel great. We'll help you get there by identifying and conquering things that don't serve you in your music so that you can enjoy performing.
There are many things that can prevent us from expressing everything we want to with our voices. In our studio, we use various images in our explanations to relate real-life scenarios to singing, helping you easily achieve the coordination necessary to feel free in your body.
In vocal music, words matter. Communicating and connecting with the meaning of the music and delivering that our audience is one of the great goals of singing. We will give you many opportunities to delve deeply into the characterization of your songs and arias.

Do I have to sing opera?
Our students sing a huge variety of genres including musical theater, classical, opera, pop, rock, R & B, and jazz. At Moore Than Music, our philosophy is that any type of music can be sung in a healthy, sustainable way, and it is our job to help you achieve just that.
How do online lessons work?
Virtual lessons are taught via FaceTime, Skype, and GoogleDuo - whichever of the three works best for you! Backing tracks that are easily found on YouTube make a great accompaniment for students and help prevent issues with potential sound delays. When tracks aren't readily available, we can also record them for the student with advance notice.
Can I take lessons once in a while, or do I need to take every week?
Our students are in the driver's seat for how often they take their lessons and how long individual lessons are. We offer half hour and hour long lessons and students take anywhere from an hour a week to occasional check-ins.
What equipment do I need for virtual lessons?
Lessons work best when the student has two devices, for instance, a smart phone and a computer, or a tablet and a smartphone. This makes it possible for the student to be connected to the lesson on one device and playing the backing track on another.
Do I need to be able to read music?
Not at all! There are many resources to learn notes and words and reading music is simply one of those ways. We are happy to show you how to learn your music easily and effectively with or without that skill.
Can I choose my own songs or are they assigned?
Typically we like to let the student decide what to sing, since singing something you really like tends to yield amazing results. However, we definitely make suggestions when students are not sure what song to do next or need guidance for a specific audition or performance.
